Hey girl! I wanted to let you know - I didn't get the May 10th post up. Had some unexpected delays BUT I bought some more ripped jeans for a photoshoot and I am hiring a catalog designer so that I can create a freebie for you to download. Stay tuned! Our new deadline is July!

No worries about the affiliate links. I'm happy that my price range is doable.

Have a wonderful week!

In reply to <a href="https://baydiangirl.com/wear-girls-night/#comment-100">Nadine</a>.

Whoa! There are so many gems in here! I'm responding and taking notes at the same time!

(1) That makes sense. I probably wouldn't wear knee-highs in the warm temperatures either! But since you mentioned that you'd look for them to wear when you travel - I will make sure to have a post handy for your to reference ;)

(2) Now rain boots are one of those shoes I've been thinking about adding to my closet for years!! I'm not too sure about Amazon being the best source but I haven't necessarily looked. Do you have a link or photo of the rain boots you really want?

(3) Girl, I had to do some research on the Brown Sugar show but I completely understand what style you're referring to. You're looking to develop a strong feminine personal style! Absolutely love the idea! And by the way, congrats on the big chop!

I am honored to inspire your street style boost! Honestly, my entire approach to it is that life is too short to not love what you're wearing every single day. You don't have to follow every trend but you can work that everyday runway!

(4) Of course I can add a section for the budget-conscious! What price range are you looking for? And, I'll create some posts with those lists for you!

I absolutely love your long comment! It really helped me understand your style needs and therefore I can create content best suited for you and other Caribbean gals! :)

P.S. I haven't seen this awesome outfit yet :(

In reply to <a href="https://baydiangirl.com/wear-girls-night/#comment-99">Tamara Holder || Baydian Girl</a>.

Some women here wear tall boots, but mostly to certain parties, rather than for regular street style. If I'm ever travelling during the cooler months, I'll ask you for the best places to source knee-length boots.

And since I'm on this topic, I want to buy a nice pair of rain boots, like the feminine ones I've been seeing on Pinterest. Is Amazon a good source for those?

I'll definitely look out for those posts. Thanks so much! Since I said goodbye to my locks and did a BC, my goal has been to make my wardrobe more feminine. I was so surprised at how many pants and jeans had overtaken my closet. So I've been including more dresses. I'm looking forward to playing with some of the styles I saw in your other post, like the one with the soft and edgy look.

I'm leaning towards re-creating my personal style. Even though I keep an eye on the trends here, I'm not a fashion "bandwagonist". I'd like to develop an eclectic style that includes Afro-centric and Bohemian chic (like Nova's style in Queen Sugar, and Rebel's look) and a classic look (along the lines of Jackie O, and Charley's style in Queen Sugar). After reading your posts, it's become clear to me that my street style needs a major boost, lol.

Can hardly wait to implement your tips. So excited! Please also add a section in your post for those of us on a budget. I work from home, but still add professional attire from time to time. I'd like to know the must-have basic pieces. This applies to accessories, too, such as the must-have shoes (and their colours), and jewellery. I don't have any outfits for a black-tie event, but I'll cross that bridge when I come to it.

Methinks this is the longest comment I've ever written, lol. I'd be happy to share other blog post ideas with you. It's great to have you as a guide, mainly because you understand the style needs of the Caribbean region.

Appreciate you and all that you do. More power to you and your brand.

P.S. Since I mentioned Rebel's look earlier, did you see the outfit she wore in the spoken poetry-scene in last night's episode? She was wearing a head wrap and an asymmetrical dress. Her look was FIRE! Want!

Methinks this is the longest comment I’ve ever written, lol. I’d be happy to share other blog post ideas with you. It’s great to have you as a guide, mainly because you understand the style needs of the Caribbean region.

Appreciate you and all that you do. More power to you and your brand.

P.S. Since I mentioned Rebel’s look earlier, did you see the outfit she wore in the spoken poetry-scene in last night’s episode? She was wearing a head wrap and an asymmetrical dress. Her look was FIRE! Want!

I love all of these observations & questions! And you're very welcome!

The over-the-knee boots look hasn't been something I've seen in the Caribbean but I can do some research to see if there is a way to rock the look in warmer weather!

LOL I'm cracking up at your description of the "mauled" ripped jeans. I definitely agree that they're over the top. There are a few places to find some good ones and some great ways to wear them. And now that you've mentioned it, I'll have a post written about it on May 10!

Also, I can definitely do a post on purging your wardrobe and recreating must-haves! It's a brilliant idea.

If you have any other blog post ideas - let me know! <3
